Baking Blunders

Margaret Moon

I haven't forgotten about you! In fact you're all I think about. When I wake up, when I fall asleep, it's you. I've been trying my best to make you proud and keep you entertained. Some days that's harder than others. Sometimes I mess up. It's not you, it's me.

You see, in between furniture shopping, I've been trying to make a perfect biscuit recipe for you. I've been at it for about a week, now. After countless tries, they are still turning out funky.  I have no idea what's happening, I've checked countless recipes,  I've watched tutorials, read every comment, I've even asked the advice of the best biscuit maker I know, my (almost) niece Lizbeth. I've tried everything I could, and still....these sad dough discs that shouldn't even be called biscuits. If there were a font style to convey my absolute frustration, this post would be written in nothing but that.

It may be my awful, horrible, abomination of an electric oven. I think it just doesn't get hot enough! Until I can get it right, that recipe is going to go on the back burner and I'll be creating something else!  Something I have practice with. Something not so finicky. If any of you have any ideas or suggestions for what you'd like to see next, I'm all ears.

I also wanted to take a moment to thank all my new subscribers and my many many new readers! Every day after breakfast I pull up my blog and do a little audience size check and to my surprise, the numbers keep growing; It's the best part of my day! As much as I like talking to myself and my cat, it's nice to not feel so alone. :)

I've got a few crazy weeks ahead, we've got our first visitors coming into town next week and I am sooooooo excited. I've never hosted guests before! I promise to fit some new content in between sightseeing, family dinners, walks in the field, and everything else! And it won't disappoint.

Until then, have a dreamy weekend! I'll be painting kitchen tables and setting up our guest rooms.

Lovingly Yours,

Margaret Moon
